If you'll do a little yourself to keep the money that's yours, yes. If you're after magic with no effort, no — there isn't any in here, and I won't pretend there is.

Do I need to be handy?

No. If you can follow a recipe, you can do nearly everything in this book. The handful of jobs that need a real skill or a professional, I tell you so plainly and send you to the right person.

Will this work where I live?

Most of it works anywhere there's a kitchen and a hardware store. The growing and the cooling chapters note where climate matters. Your home and your water are yours, and I tell you how to test before you commit.
